The Saarelainen Family Society

The Saarelainen Family Society was established in 2000.

The main goals of the society are to promote genealogical research, cherish family traditions and sense of belonging among its members. Today, the society has been able to track our roots reliably at least until early 17th century with fully written documentation. With the support of modern DNA-based genealogy, the oldest known paternal lineage goes to the early 16th century.

You are welcome to practice your Finnish with us. We arrange trips, meetings, family days and other program. We have also a member magazine, ”Saarelaisten Sanomat”, both in print and online, readable in the section for members only.
